As everyone well knows pollution reduction and, more recently, CO_2 emission reduction have been a major concern for more than 20 years for all industries. If we try to identify the trends we can reasonably say that these environmental issues were firstly addressed to the passenger car industry followed a few years later by the heavy duty vehicles industry and some years after that by the shipping industry. It is interesting to compare the changes enforced and their subsequent impact on engine lubrication as the paths followed are pretty similar for these industries.
