The mission to Seafarers (MtS) has been active in recent months, particularly its South Korean branch in Pusan was early to the scene at Jindo to provide assistance following the sinking of the Sewol ferry in April that saw the deaths of over 200 people. On 15 May 2014, the captain and three crew members were charged with murder, while the other 11 members of the crew were indicted for abandoning the ship.
