The latest Confidence Index survey by IMarEST marine partner and engineering recruitment specialist Matchtech, shows that a large percentage of maritime respondents have never considered professional registration, including chartered status. Although a third of the 350 respondents had worked in the naval and maritime sectors for over 30 years, barely a fifth were qualified to chartered status and 45% had never even considered the career-bolstering move. Furthermore, nearly two-thirds had not considered gaining an EngTech qualification.
