Recently, MARIN concluded the sea-keeping and manoeuvring model tests for the SMOOTH EU project.rnThis project aims to achieve energy efficiency gains through the application of air bubble lubrication and through advanced coatings. In this technique, air is injected from various locations under the ship in a bid to reduce frictional resistance. Additionally, special coatings are used to improve the effect.
