Japan's chocolate association keeping eye on chemical use in Ghana

Executives of the Cocoa Chocolate Association of Japan (CCAJ) have met with the management of the Ghana Cocoa Board (Cocobod) to discuss the use of agro-chemicals for cocoa production and shipment of cocoa from Ghana to Japan. The chief executive of Cocobod, Tony Fofie, said that Cocobod would continue to educate farmers to use only chemicals approved by the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana on their cocoa farms to avoid possible rejection of cocoa beans by overseas buyers, including CCAJ.
