Ontario Teachers'Pension Plan acquires Burton's Biscuits

Burton's Biscuit Company has been purchased by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan. Burton's had been owned by Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and affiliates of Apollo Global Management. Burton's is the only major biscuit manufacturer in the UK to focus solely on biscuits. The company employs over 2,000 people, focused in three main manufacturing facilities, with a head office in St. Albans. Recent annual sales were more than £340 million (US$547.7 million).
