Lindt & Spruengli's group sales increased 3.1 percent to CHF 1.549 billion (US$1.594 billion) in the first half of the year. Excluding Russell Stover, whose sales are declining due to the realignment in the U.S. chocolate market, Lindt & Spruengli was able to achieve growth of 6.6 percent. The European segment generated sales of CHF 759.8 million (US$782.3 million). Of particular note are the developments in the recently developed markets, such as the subsidiaries in Russia, Poland and the Czech Republic, which are showing strong growth.
