Re-visiting the historic turn 10 years later: current debates in management and organizational history - an introduction

The call for 'an historic turn' in Management and Organization Studies (MOS) (Clark and Rowlinson 2004; Kieser 1994; Zald 1993) is perhaps mislabeled and very much depends on what is seen as history and what is seen as constituting MOS. There are at least three alternative characterizations; first, a historic return to MOS; second, rethinking MOS from a histo-riographic perspective; and third, critically interrogating MOS and its relationship to history and the past.
