Le 10 janvier 2005, la séance du séminaire CONDOR a été consacrée à la présentation par Richard Lester, professeur au MIT, du livre qu'il a écrit avec Michael Piore, également professeur au MIT, sur l'innovation. Le livre se propose de montrer que l'innovation combine deux processus antagoniques, irréconciliables, et qu'il faut pourtant mener de front en pratique: la démarche analytique (reposant sur les techniques de résolution de problème), bien maîtrisée par les entreprises, et une démarche moins bien comprise, moins bien maîtrisée: la démarche interprétative. L'intervention de Richard Lester a été discutée par Paul Duguid (Berkeley et Copenhagen Business School) et Antonio Strati (Université de Trente, Italie).%The CONDOR seminar devoted its 10 January 2005 session to the presentation by Richard Lester, professor at MIT, of the book on innovation that he has written with his colleague at MIT, Michael Piore. According to them, innovation combines two irreconcilable processes that have to be brought under control in actual practice: an analytic approach based on problem-solving techniques, which firms have learned; and a less well understood and controlled interpretative approach. Paul Duguid (Berkeley and Copenhagen Business School) and Antonio Strati (University of Trento, Italy) discussed Lester's intervention.
