A report highlights that off-shoring production will be expensive and due to the specialty nature of the industry, this sector is expected to grow even in regions such as the United States where the textile industry is in a decline since the inception of NAFTA in 1994. Coated and finished fabrics production has shifted from the United States to China and India where labor and production costs are cheaper than developed nations according to the report.
