Multiscale Modeling of Background Ozone: Research Needs to Inform and Improve Air Quality Management

Accurately quantifying BG O_3 is important for many air quality management applications. In this article, we have provided our perspective on research needs at both the regional and global scale to improve model-based estimates of BG O_3. We hope this perspective can serve as road map as federal, state, and local agencies, as well as academic partners, develop research plans to address this challenge.
