Ul Scripting Changes in Mavericks

Last month, my tip discussed enabling IU scripting (aka GUI scripting) via AppleScript in Mountain Lion. Since that time, Apple released OS X 10.9 Mavericks, which, of course, made most of what I wrote about irrelevant. Mavericks introduces some important changes to the way UI scripting works, so this month's article focuses on what's new.First and foremost, it's no longer possible to enable UI scripting via AppleScript. This behavior posed a security risk, and Apple wanted no part of it. Instead, access for assistive devices, which allows for UI scripting and other accessibility behavior, must be manually enabled in Mavericks. The idea here is that the user must consciously make a decision to grant access. We wouldn't want someone accidentally triggering a key logger or something that auto-enables accessibility access for itself, now, would we?
