It is with a great deal of pleasure that I recently received a mail from Dr. Stefan Spiegel, the editor of Macro-molecular Reaction Engineering (A/IRE) reminding us that soon we will reading the 5th anniversary issue of this journal! What began life in 2004 as a section in Macromolecular Materials and Engineering has developed into an excellent journal in its own right in a very short space of time. As well, its 2010 ISI Impact Factor is 1.7, putting it right up there with the top journals in Chemical Engineering, and competitive with polymer journals that have been around for a much longer time. That is quite an accomplishment, and as a member of the International Advisory Board of MREI am proud to have been a part of this project.
