摘要

Providing the operating personnel of complex process plants (e.g. ethylene plants) with optimal target set points is a significant task. Economics, current plant performance and physical constraints must be taken into account to ensure that the target set points adopted will allow the plant to run as well as possible. The application of a modern plant optimization package helps the plant manager to run the plant under optimal conditions. LINDE AG has combined experience in process design, construction and operation with the results of research and development in the area of plant simulation and optimization and the latest advances in computer technology and mathematics to develop a powerful plant simulation and on-line optimization package OPTISIM~®-PO. The following applications of a modern plant optimization package are presented: off-line and on-line plant simulation and optimization, data reconciliation, model tuning and sensitivity analysis.
