Jitter testing plays a critical role in ensuring the error-free performance of gigabit-speed devices, thereby improving time-to-market. But jitter testing remains a complicated and somewhat controversial subject, one that test equipment vendors hope to clarify with the introduction of new systems that more efficiently verify signal integrity and jitter tolerance in 10-Gbit devices, including XFPs.
