Good lighting evokes an emotional response. In designing spaces, I use my abilities as a problem solver to meet the challenges associated with providing lighting solutions that exhibit creativity, and I use my technical knowledge of the controllable properties of light to create contrast, sparkle, and visual depth. Lighting design does not just provide illumination, nor does it simply consist of laying out a grid of lights. Rather, it is an art form in which light interacts with the built environment. My lighting design projects are characterized by interaction, so that no one notices the light but rather the architecture and the interior design of the space.
