A New Year's greeting card shows footprints in the snow and reads, "This Year Follow Your Heart." But how do you know when you have a calling? When is it time to follow your heart? "Passion" is the common denominator among our panel of lighting designers, each of whom have been instrumental in designing lighting for American landmarks, historic exhibits, icons, artifacts and museums. In this roundtable discussion, they talk about the key issues driving these projects, including working with various community "stakeholders"; the decision-making process in selecting light sources and fixtures; the importance of mock-ups; and the general satisfaction they receive as "protectors of the heritage."
