Creating harmony between new, modern architecture and existing historically significant buildings is not a particularly new challenge. However, if the recently completed COFCO Landmark Plaza in Beijing is any indication, practice may indeed be making perfect. Located adjacent to the city’s iconic Temple of Earth, the new 82,000-sq ft office complex serves China’s largest food production company, COFCO, via two building towers connected by a 13-story glass atrium.
