BOMBARDIER LAUNCHES FLEXITY FREEDOM FOR AMERICAN MARKET

The Bombardier Flexity Freedom light rail vehicle was unveiled at the American Public Transportation Association's Expo 2011 in New Orleans, USA, on 3 October by President & CEO Andre Navarri. Although designed to meet North American crashworthi-ness, fire safety and accessibility standards, it is based upon the recently launched Flexity 2 built in Europe. It will be offered as an LRV or a streetcar, in three-unit or five-unit versions with powered end sections; the middle section on the longer car can also be powered if needed.
