Amsterdam Noord-Zuidlijn opens

After 15 years of construction work and numerous delays, the EUR3.1mNoord-Station Zuid metro line 52 was inaugurated by Mayor Femke Halsema and Alderman for Traffic and Transport Sharon Dijksma on 21 July, with free rides for the rest of the day (60 000 took the opportunity); normal service started from 22 July with 72 000 riders per day during the first week of regular operation.
