Focusing on WorldCat, OCLC Thins FirstSearch

In addition to OCLC's sale of its Net-Library division to EBSCO (see News, p. 14), the membership cooperative is further distancing itself from the content business by selling EBSCO the rights to license 15 vendor-owned databases currently available through FirstSearch (13 of the databases are already available via EBSCOhost). Similarly, OCLC and H.W. Wilson will work together to transition library subscriptions for Wilson databases provided on the OCLC First-Search service to the WilsonWeb platform over the next 16 months.
