This visual encyclopedia compares 74 data points measuring everything from alcohol consumption to women in power, in various countries. Each topic is analyzed in a brief, lighthearted way on a spread that also features glossy and colorful charts and graphs. It's a fun book to browse primarily because of those witty and eye-catching in-fographics. However, as a reference source, it is lacking in content, currency, and essential finding aids. Smaller countries are under-represented for the most part, as most tables only include information on the United States and the largest Asian and European nations. Much of the data is almost a decade old, and although sources are listed in a separate section at the end of the book, they are not cited on the relevant pages.
