The diverse recipes, many of which were acquired by the author from his friends and associates, such as beetroot hummus and chilled rhubarb/strawberry soup, have an air of simple sophistication. The book's goal is to inspire readers to enjoy benefits of fresh, homegrown fruit and vegetables, regardless of space constraints, and with the least amount of labor and upkeep. Bertelsen easily meets this objective with this book.
