Seminar/Workshop on Capacity Building for Teacher-Librarians in Primary Schools in Delta State, Nigeria

摘要

The government seems to be well intentioned to organize this training for teacher-librarians for effective library services in primary schools in Delta State. Participants and the entire educational system are optimistic that with the full introduction of school library services in schools, the efforts will extend a long way to improve the standard of education and the future of the Nigerian child for a better citizenry. Teacher-librarians should be assertive and be fully committed to the task of training the child to be skilled in reading and research processes and independent studies. The needs to acquire, organize and manage, retrieve and disseminate relevant, reliable and more recent or current information through modern trends in library services cannot be overemphasized. Therefore, all hands have to be on deck to achieve the desired goal.
