Digitizing projects in developing countries: the case of the University of Nigeria

University libraries, apart from their mandate of promoting teaching and research, have the mandate to protect the collective memory of their institutions. The University of Nigeria embarked on a digitization project with the aim of preserving their intellectual property including research theses, research proceedings, seminar papers, colloquia, research publications, and inaugural lectures.
