C&J Clark seek advice on float benefits

Privately owned shoe company, C&J Clark have appointed Dresdner Kleinwort Benson to advise them on the potential of a stock market flotation which could value the'company at as much as £300,000 million (US$478.59 million). Clarks are due to ballot shareholders later this year but would need the backing of the Clark family which retains 70% ownership in order to gain the 75% majority needed to proceed.
