Processors chasing too few cattle

The beef industry in Ireland and the UK is experiencing a crisis at the moment. Put simply, there are too many beef processors chasing too few cattle. Herd (and flock) sizes are reduced and people are chasing market share with the consequence that margins are at best small and in some cases non-existent. Kills are also lower as the new season cow kill period approaches.
