Country to reach $12 billion in leather product exports in 2014

According to the Vietnam Industry and Trade Information Center (VITIC), the country will reach its goal of $12 billion in leather-product exports in 2014. Under the Ministry of Industry and Trade on Friday, the VITIC quoted the vice-chairman of the Vietnam Leather, Footwear and Handbag Association (Lefaso), Diep Thanh Kiet, saying that in the first nine months of 2014, Vietnam collected around $7.4 billion from shipping footwear abroad, up nearly 24% year on year and $1.9 billion from exporting handbags, and up 37% year on year.
