Sharp decline in the consumption of footwear in Italy

According to the latest statistics shoe consumption in Italy is 4.8% down in volume over 2013. To try to limit the damage, outlets in Italy have sharply lowered prices and reduced margins which resulted in a reduction in turnover of 7.1% in 12 months. Last year more than one pair in two in the peninsula was sold during sales.
