America Movil to unify fixed, mobile ops under Claro brand

Mexican telecoms operator America Movil (AM) will unify its fixed and mobile operations in Argentina under the Claro moniker from October 20, 2010. the move will make Claro the first operator in the country to offer telephone and Internet services under a single brand, on the same bill, and using its own infrastructure. AM began the integration of its fixed-line subsidiary Telmex Argentina with its local mobile unit Claro in August, after AM took control of Telmex's parent Telmex Inter-nacional the previous month. In the next few months, the sale of products and services will be unified in retail outlets and customer service centers, with a distinct focus on the mobile market.
