Viettel Peru has revealed plans to launch its wireless network in January 2013. That month, the Vietnam-backed cellular company intends to begin offering services in Chincha, Huara, Huarochiri, lea and Trujillo. Viettel said it would provide a special rate of USD$2 per month for 40 minutes of calls to low-income customers, adding that its arrival in the sector would see prices fall across the sector by up to 50%.
