Mexico's Red Compartida achieves 45% coverage

ALTAN Redes, the consortium behind the rollout of Mexico's open access 700MHz network deployment, has announced that its footprint now covers 45% of the Mexican population, following launches in Tuxtla Gutierrez and Villahermosa earlier this month. The cities are said to be the first locations in south-east Mexico to receive 700MHz coverage, and join Cuernavaca and Veracruz, where the network went live in May. The four new markets are home to a combined 2.8 million inhabitants.
