Intrigued by a pewter project by RiCard Salley I saw a few years ago, I began to experiment with pewter as a medium. I started some R&D on it, which my husband refers to as "research and destruction!" I have been casting sterling silver in pine needles, salt, water, and casting sand for several years, so I was familiar with the concept, just not the freedom of a low temperature metal like pewter. I tried pouring pewter on all types of surfaces, but found that I liked pouring into casting sand, rubber silicone molds, and onto rubber stamps best. Believe me, not all molding compounds and rubber stamps are made equal!
