Mapping multiple literacies: an introduction to Deleuzian literacy studies

Here is a book for readers interested in literacy since the 1980s and in particular in the influence of the French philosopher Deleuze. The questions answered go beyond basic definitions of literacy to include considerations of who defines literacy, how these definitions are developed and in what way various views coincide or diverge. The contents are a combination of reviews of theory plus reports of original research from Cole in Australia and Masny in Canada, two countries with a history of literacy studies. The chapters are mainly single authored, except for the first and last, which they co-author.
