Ticklenaked Pond Restoration Project

The successful completion of the Tick-lenaked Pond project illustrates the effectiveness of alum treatment as a pond/lake restoration technique. While addressing the watershed and incoming water quality is an important component of management, it is too often not enough to affect the needed improvement to fully meet restoration goals. Inactivation of existing in-pond phosphorus with alum provides a practical and cost effective technique to bridge this gap.
