Most vehicle emissions fall into one of two categories with very little overlap between them. This enables the two types of emissions to be considered separately. 1. Greenhouse gas emissions are those that have been identified as contributing to climate change. They are usually measured in units of equivalent weight of carbon dioxide (CO_2-e), as most greenhouse gas emissions are CO_2, with small contributions from other gases.
