This exhibition was being shown in the gallery of Craft in the Bay, situated in Cardiff Bay and home of the Makers Guild in Wales. This gallery was purpose-built especially for MGW, who actually own the premises, providing 4,000 square feet of floor space overall, roughly 'divided' into two areas, one consisting of approximately two thirds of floor space. It accommodates the members ongoing sales/exhibition area plus the remaining third, which is set aside for visiting exhibitions. In addition to this, the building holds office and workshop accommodation, a conference room which can be hired and a cafe which is open daily. The shell of the building was formerly known as D Shed in Cardiff Docks, the purpose of which was to receive a huge variety of imported goods, from arsenic, spices, wool and silk to biscuits and iron ore and much more. The building was given to the Makers Guild of Wales on the condition that the metalwork be restored, and forms the framework of their permanent home, which after very considerable building work was carried out, incorporating floor to ceiling plate glass walls, gives maximum light. Financial help was sought from the Wales Arts Council, the Heritage Memorial Lottery Fund and National lottery monies; the remaining debt, of a considerable amount, was gradually met by the Makers themselves and donations.
