摘要

The making of braids is a textile art with a long history of traditional skills. It was therefore very pleasing to have the opportunity to see contemporary work at the society's exhibition in Manchester. The exhibition was in the main entrance area of the Sir Kenneth Green Library and showed fifty-eight items, well displayed, although reflections on glass cases may have been a problem. I was impressed by the high degree of skill and artistry shown and the variety of pattern and structure possible while working within a restricted format and on such a small scale.
