AGWSD AGM Report 2015

Approximately 90 people attended, including delegates from 47 Guilds, observers, representatives from the Journal Editorial Committee (JEC), members of the General Purposes Committee (GPC), and helpers. Association Vice-Chair, Steve Kennett, welcomed everyone to the meeting, reminding us that it was 60 years since 10 Guilds had together founded the Association. Steve was standing in for Stuart Groom, Association Chair, as Stuart was seriously ill. Our Honorary President, Dr Jenny Balfour-Paul, spoke of this exciting occasion as a pivotal point where we could consider how social media might make us more accessible to young people who are not getting hands-on craft education any more. Saying that every Guild needs to be involved in the Association, she congratulated everybody for the work they had done, and looked forward to a great future.
