This year, at the AGM, the Guild Achievement Award was presented to Eileen Broadley for her work in needlefelting and in her promotion of that craft to the public through exhibition. Eileen wrote a few words about her crafting journey: I originally came to the Guild about five years ago to learn to spin. I had an orphan lamb and some Ouessant sheep (miniature Shetlands) with fleece that I wanted to use. During one of those first spinning classes, I was shown the bones of needlefelting by one of the participants. I went straight home to try it out. It quickly became an enduring obsession! I now make 3D needlefelt models and pictures with raised 3D areas.
