Designing the global city: Design excellence, competitions and the remaking of central Sydney

On almost every metric, the City of Sydney sits somewhere at the top of global city rankings. Not many cities have reinvented themselves to the same degree. From the relative cultural isolation of the mid-1970s, Sydney is now considered to be as globally connected to the world economy as New York, London, Tokyo, Paris and Hong Kong.
