摘要

The fifth release in Routledge's 'Key Ideas in Geography' series, Adey's text is a broad-ranging survey and contextualization of the multi-disciplinary literature that has accumulated on the subject of human physical mobility in the past decade or so. His introduction to and review of a rapidly evolving field is very welcome. Not least, the book makes a little more intelligible some of the arcane terminology that has sprouted in mobility studies, as if to distinguish the field and give it distinction. 'Motility' may yet be one of the terms that has a short life. Many readers, like me, will find that the extensive bibliography contains 'must read' items previously overlooked.
