Peritoneal function tests for peritoneal dialysis patients: comparison of personal dialysis capacity (PDC) and peritoneal equilibration test (PET)

For the long-term continuation of continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD), the function of the peritoneum as a biomembrane should be tested regularly. Although several tests for evaluating peritoneal capacity have been developed, most have been inadequate. In the present study, we evaluated the personal dialysis capacity (PDC) test, which was developed on the basis of the "three pore model" of peritoneal transport, and the peritoneal equilibration test (PET).
