Tight Binding Inhibitors of N-Acyl Amino Sugar and N-Acyl Amino Acid Deacetylases

Enzymes within the amidohydrolase superfamily have been shown to catalyze the hydrolysis of amide and ester bonds to carbon and phosphorus centers in a wide range of substrates,including nucleic acids,carbohydrates,and amino acids.The hydrolytic water molecule is activated in these enzymes by direct coordination to a mononuclear or binuclear metal center in the active site.
