This JACS Select issue covers 21 Communications and Articles at the interface of inorganic chemistry and biology.The application of metals to treat human ailments dates back at least to the fifth century B.C., and the study and mimicry of metals in biology is a vibrant subject today. It was difficult to limit the selection of articles to those covered here, but they are representative of the panoply of publications on this topic in the journal over the past decade.
