Safeguarding intangible cultural heritage

A decade has passed since UNESCO decreed a convention internationally recognising the importance of the safeguarding of "intangible heritage". Many countries since then have signed it, others have not yet; but nevertheless, since then the question of the nature and the protection of intangible heritage became increasingly important. This topic draws the attention of researchers and practitioners whose work is related to it. In this book, policymakers, curators, folklorists and academic researchers share strategic visions, experiences and best practices related to the conservation and the evolution of the immaterial cultural heritage (ICH). Numerous questions and concerns as for the proper documentation, treatment and interpretation of this heritage are addressed.
