The purpose of this edited volume is to fill a gap in the current literature. In his Preface, the editor notes that there is much information available on the theory of building a trustworthy digital repository but it is harder to find examples of implementation. For this reason, the 10 chapters of the book each begin with an introductory section summarizing the relevant theory and standards for the topic which is followed by one or more longer articles describing a case study or a practical implementation.
