The pieces in this book were written at various times. They are basically arranged in chronological order and the sections into which they have been divided, which are to a certain extent arbitrary, correspond to my gradual progress in conceptualizing the path to a new paradigm—a phenomenological paradigm, as opposed to the paradigm that is based upon the natural sciences, on the one hand, and the psychotechnical paradigm, on the other—of thought and action in psychotherapy and the practical psychology of personality.
