Characteristics of Collective Memory, Ethnic Conflicts, Historiography, and the 'Politics of Memory'

Characteristics of historiographical traditions that are inherent to various cultures tend, in turn, to condition the particularity and differences of "forms" of collective memory. In the preceding chapters we have examined the characteristics of the Russian historiographical tradition and of the pattern of Russian collective memory. The characteristics of the Armenian historiographical tradition also have a decisive influence on the formation of the pattern of Armenian collective memory.
