Setting a Course for the Future of JRTE: New Editorial Team, Revision to the Aims and Scope, and Goals for the Journal

The Journal of Research on Technology in Education (JRTE) has been a long-standing and reputable venue for the dissemination of cutting-edge research on technology in education for a half century. With the 50th volume published in 2018, we celebrate 50 years of excellence in peer-reviewed research and the increasingly important role of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) in shaping the future of technology in education. As we move into the next half century of JRTE, we would like to show our appreciation for the previous editorial team and introduce the new editorial team to our readership. For more than a decade and for two separate periods (2002-2012 and 2016-2018), Dr. Lynne Schrum devoted her time, expertise, and energy to building the quality reputation of JRTE as a leading academic research journal. Dr. Schrum carefully curated cutting-edge research articles, developed emerging scholars and authors in the field, and led the editorial board to new levels of greatness. We would also like to thank Dr. Steven Terrell and Dr. Neal Strudler for their service to the journal as associate editors over the past few years. Effective August 2018, Dr. Schrum has retired from the academy and passed the torch of JRTE to us.
